Find Fiber in your Main Point of Entry ( MPOE or building telephone closet )

If you're building has fiber in it, there is an 85% chance it comes in via the MPOE or building phone closet. If it is not there it may come in via the roof or underground to another part of the building. If it's not in the MPOE, there will usually be a gray looking metal box the fiber travels through and then enters the building through a hole in the wall concealed by the box.
It usually travels in inter-duct.

In the MPOE, inter-duct is usually orange in color and the fiber cable inside is black and the diameter of a quarter. It may come up through a 3" or larger floor pipe, or come down through the ceiling. The inter-duct may also be white or blue.
There will be a tag of some kind. It will have numbers and letter codes that help us identify it.

Notice how the black fiber cable exits the inter-duct. The cable may come straight up into the MPOE without the inter-duct. Some fiber cables do not require it. You will always see some loops in the cable. Either the inter-duct or the black fiber cable itself may have the identifier number. It may not state the company name on it. The name doesn't matter as Fiber Internet Center has arrangements to utilize almost all street fiber. Find the identifying numbers on the cable and call us. It will help you get connected faster !
